Freestyle Football

Freestyle Football, Football Freestyle... it's the same thing. Some people prefer to call it football freestyle, others freestyle football. Freestyle is to entertain a crowd with different football tricks, they can be performed from standing position with your legs or upper body, from sitting position or even lying down. There is no inventor of the sport since it has been around for years and years. The first football freestyle moves I have seen is from the 1930's. It was an amazing juggling artists who was doing alot of freestyle moves. One move he did that I have not seen anyone today pull of is to do headers (juggling with your head) with two balls.
Other say that Maradona was the inventor of freestyle as he was always playing around with the ball and doing juggling skills. It's impossible to say who was first with the sport, but I would rather put it this way... People have been doing juggling tricks forever, ever since the ball was invented. Everyone who have been doing tricks are an inventor of football freestyle. For every trick out there the sport got closer to what it is today. And every juggler have given inspiration to another juggler and then there have been new tricks this way.
The term of football freestyle have only been around for a couple of years though. It have not always been a sport, and some people doesn't consider it to be a sport today either. It is a competitive sport which is amazing to watch. To me freestyle is a show and an art, a juggling art. Freestyle can be done by single performers but also in teams of several performers. If there is a choreographer and some talented freestylers they can make an amazing show that will attract a lot of people.
Sum up: Football freestyle is pure juggling from the beginning, but as the time passed it grew into an sport and the sport got the name "football freestyle". Today freestyle is bigger then it ever have been, but it's far from big. Hopefully those amazing ball jugglers will soon go in to a time where freestyle gets big, really big!

Is Cricket Canada's National Sport?

When you think of the leaders in international cricket, the Canadians don't exactly spring to mind, so as England and Canada face each other this weekend in the cricket world cup, it's interesting to ask if cricket is Canada's national sport?
So is it? Er, no it isn't.
Canada's has 2 national sports, defined by law in the 1990s. They are ice hockey for the winter, and lacrosse for the summer.
Cricket used to be huge in Canada, as an ex-British colony. In fact, the match between the USA and Canada held in Sept 1844, is not only the oldest known international in cricket, it's the oldest known international fixture in *any* sport!
I did some research, and it turns out that the game was between a New York team and a Toronto team, but both teams sought players from their countries, so in effect they were representative teams, and it has long been held that it did count as a US v. Canada match!
I love that kind of history in sport - it's one of the things that's great about it - a rich history, which is always being added to, only getting ever richer as time goes on!
Cricket didn't last as a popular sport in Canada, nor in the US for that matter, unlike other ex-Brit colonies like Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, etc.
Maybe it's the cold weather, maybe it's infiltration of other sports from the US, but the cricket world cup in 2007 sees Canada as just there to make up the numbers.
Having said that about cricket, that is not the case with the sport of curling! Canada has a huge percentage of all the world's curlers. As a newcomer to the sport, I will be watching that sport's World Champs this week also, where the Canadians are *always* expected to do well.
So, as you enjoy the cricket, the curling, or any sport, you can now show off your knowledge about the oldest sporting international!

A Guide To Gymnastics

Gymnastics is arguably one of the world’s oldest sports. It is also a very natural sport involving activities that people would normally do outside gym class or gymnastic competitions such as jumping, running, climbing, swinging and tumbling. Modern gymnastics as a sport involves the performance of a series of movements.
These activities and movements require flexibility, physical strength and kinesthetic awareness. Most of the movements involved developed from the many fitness exercises that soldiers in Ancient Greece used. Gymnastics is also considered a somewhat difficult and dangerous sport because gymnasts are constantly exposed to injury.
Gymnastics today is a sport that has six different disciplines: artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, sports aerobics, sports acrobatics, trampoline work, and general gymnastics. Among these disciplines, artistic and rhythmic gymnastics are the two most popular and is part of the Summer Olympic Games held every four years.
Rhythmic gymnastics on the other hand is performed mostly by women athletes and involves apparatus such as ball, hoop, club, ribbon and rope. Sports aerobics focuses on flexibility, strength and fitness while trampoline work uses equipment called a trampoline. Gymnastic events are typically divided into men’s and women’s.
Men’s events include floor, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars and high bar. Meanwhile, women’s events include the vault, uneven bars, balance beams and floor. General gymnastics involves the performance of choreographed and synchronized routines by a larger group of people of all ages.
Aside from being one of the world’s major sports, gymnastics is also a sport that many people, regardless of age or ability can try. It is a great sport that can teach important values such as independence and self-discipline. Gymnastics also builds strength and enhances physical flexibility and agility. Gymnastics is also a great sport for children because it develops a healthy mind and body.

Snowboarding: First Considerations

Snowboarding, simply put, is sliding through snow using a board. This fast growing winter sport is already a rage with about 7 million people currently involved or interested in it and its ever growing popularity is only attracting more and more newcomers. Having made it into the Olympic sports in 1998 where snowboarding turned into an enormous success, this sport has never looked back. Considered to be a relatively easy sport to learn the number of snowboarding “beginners” is on the rise.
Snowboarding beginners, as in any other sport, are advised to sign up for a formal training session as this would cut down their learning curve and make them more confident of mastering the sport. The first step associated with the sport is to purchase (or loan) comfortable and correct clothing as it puts the person in the right frame of mind and is protective of safety. On this front it is advised to get into a loose fitting suit with goggles and gloves. Protection gear in the form of wristbands and a helmet is a must.
Picking up the right snowboard is critical and it should of the right length and width. The most popular styles of snowboarding are freestyle and freeride, the category in which the beginner wants to gain hold determines the type of snowboard to be picked and manufactures cater to both types.
Fixing the bindings is next and to do this correctly requires practice. For strap bindings, toe and ankle are to be strapped until they are comfortable and for step-in bindings it is first required to step in and roll the foot around to ensure that the bindings are safe and sound. Binding front foot first and then repeated with the back foot. To cross check if the bindings are in place it is advised to make a few quick jumps and see that they are not disturbed.

Inflatable Sport Boats

Before World War II, inflatable boats were used by the military during covert operations. These inflatable boats were good for use in shallow waters where a traditional boat would be impossible to bring. Inflatable boats were used primarily by the Europeans to transport torpedoes and cargo. After the war, the quantity of surplus inflatable boats was so high that the military started selling these boats to the public. Since then, the inflatable boat has evolved, bringing forth inflatable kayaks, inflatable canoes and dinghies, and arguably the most famous of them all, the inflatable sport boats.
Inflatable sport boats are primarily designed for recreation purposes, whether for fishing or for water sports. Some people use these boats as yacht tenders. Usually, sport boats are equipped with 40-horsepower engines that are powerful enough to sail across the open ocean without any difficulty. Their powerful engines can tow someone on water skis or a kneeboard. The maximum load this small vessel can carry is the average combined weight of four people. This means that a small group can go on a fishing trip down the lake. Scuba divers can also haul in their gears and lifelines without any problems.
When the sport boat is fully inflated, it weighs about 100 pounds. These boats can support seven people with a weight of around 2000 pounds. Inflatable sport boats are usually equipped with a 40-horsepower engine, but low-power engines are also available.
Inflatable sport boats vary in length. There are varieties that measure 230 cm, 270 cm, 300 cm, 330 cm, 360 cm, 380 cm, 430 cm and 580 cm. You can purchase an inflatable sport boat that includes a floorboard and engine at a starting price of $1500. These boats are designed to be portable, allowing you to store it inside the trunk of your car when it is fully deflated.

What Constitutes a Sport?

In today’s society, health and fitness are the craze everyone seems to be riding. From starting a pick-up game with friends to kayaking in the ocean, people are doing everything under the sun to get in shape. While pondering the topic of exercise, I began wondering what differentiates hobbies and sports. Why are certain activities considered sports and other are mere hobbies? The following is a checklist that must be fully addressed before a hobby can be considered a sport.
1. You must break a sweat.
A hobby is something that is done to relax. A sport is something you do in order to increase physical fitness. Thus, in order to qualify as a sport, the activity must be something that requires participants to break a sweat.
2. No relaxing, leisurely activities
If you wake up one weekend and think to yourself, “How can I have fun today?”, chances are you are not participating in a sport. A sport requires rigorous physical activity. It cannot be something that fills the need for rest and relaxation. A perfect example of this is golf. Walking around a grassy nook for five hours – if you, in fact, choose to decline the standard golf cart approach – is not a sport. When people schedule their vacations around an activity, it cannot be considered a sport.
3. Risk
If there is no chance that you might get hurt, it is not a sport. As mentioned before, sports are rigorous and physical. In addition, the people against whom you compete are generally physical as well. So, in sports there is definitely a risk factor associated with it.
4. Training
Engaging in something that does not require extensive training is not a sport. Do you think that Michael Jordan or Derek Jeter simply woke up one morning and thought, I think I will play a professional sport today? No. In their particular cases, they have spent year preparing themselves for the hardships of their respective sports. If you are “playing” something that does not require training, it is not a sport.
5. Ball, Race or Competition
If there is no ball, race or some other type of competition involved, it is not a sport.
6. National or International Competitions
Activities that do not have national or international competitions or ranking systems in any way, shape or form are not sports. Much like the Olympics or the World Cup, national and international competitions are set up for sports. Furthermore, when dealing with these types of competitions, participants and viewers alike can learn who is the best.
7. Organization
A sport must be affiliated with some sort of organization. If a group simply goes out to the backyard and makes up a physical activity with their own self-implemented rules, that is not a sport. A perfect example of this is Four Square. Four Square is a hobby people, not a sport!
A plethora of physical activities exist for physical fitness and amusement alike. However, just because something contains an element of physicality does not mean it is necessarily a sport. Keep in mind that the list above is not all-inclusive, but if your “sport” does not live up these criteria, it is not a sport.

Wakeboarding Competitions

Wakeboarding had its humble beginnings in the late 80’s by a couple of water sports enthusiasts in Orlando, Florida. Since then, the sport has taken off wildly and wakeboarding is now an official sport and part of many action sport festivals and competitions. The boarder can be seen thrashing the waters from the Philippines to Canada to Germany to New Zealand. With International interest, televised events, major corporate sponsorship and stars of the sport competing in these events, wakeboarding has become a mainstay in the action-sports genre with millions of people all over the world participating. The sport now has competitions and events for men, women and young adults who participate to win coveted trophies, prize money and corporate sponsorship.
It seems that all that is needed is a body of water, a boat, a board, a tow line, a swimsuit and the passion and desire to excel at this ever-expanding sport. Many of the wakeboarding and water sports competitions include not only the competition and the premier participants showing off their skill and agility but incorporate multiple-day events with live music concerts, parties, workshops with pros and fun for the boarder and spectator alike.
World Sports & Marketing, a sports promotion and event organization based in Florida, included Skurfing (the archaic name for wakeboarding, also previously known as kneeboarding or skiboarding) in pro wakeboard competitions in the early 90’s. These events were covered by ESPN and ESPN2, giving substantial coverage to the new sport. In 1993, Wakeboarding Magazine was born and provided a platform for the sport to gain exposure and provided information to interested athletes. When ESPN included wakeboarding in 1996’s X-Games, millions of viewers were indoctrinated with the sport and wakeboarding’s popularity exploded and enthusiasts and pros continue to flourish throughout the world.
Women have a prominent position in the sport with athletes like Dallas Friday (winner of every pro women’s wakeboarding event since winning the National Championship in 2002), Emily Copeland (first place winner in the 2002 Philadelphia X Games) , Maegan Major and Tara Hamilton making a big splash on the scene. In men’s competitions, Danny Harf, Tino Santori, Phillip Soven, Andrew Adkison and Rusty Malinoski are wakeboarding’s top male champions.

Which Are the Most Popular Sports?

There's an age old debate about which sports have the most participants or attract the most spectators. We take a look at some statistics to see if we can find the answers.
Judging from the number of followers of the game, football (soccer) is the most popular sport of all. With more than 3 billion fans worldwide this is the sport that dominates all others.
Estimates suggest that the last football World Cup final was watched live by almost 1 billion people - a quite astonishing figure. In the UK alone there are almost 50,000 registered football clubs, with up to 3 million participants.
Leading football clubs attract attendances of considerably more than 50,000 spectators on a regular basis, with the Spanish heavyweights of Real Madrid and Barcelona often drawing massive crowds.
Football truly is the global game.
Next up in the listings is a sport that might surprise many: cricket. Although cricket seems to have failed to have caught the imagination in large parts of the world (North America, China and South America being examples), participation and viewing figures are extremely high.
These figures are largely boosted by the popularity of the sport in Asia, where India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are all significant cricketing nations.
Elsewhere in the world, England, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and the West Indies all have international cricket teams, while the sport is growing in some parts of continental Europe (notably the Netherlands and Denmark).
The third most popular sport in the world is harder to judge, with figures conflicting. Some suggest basketball, undoubtedly the American sport with the largest global appeal.
Other leading contenders include tennis, field hockey (once again, a sport that has enormous appeal in the Indian sub-continent) and swimming.
A recent report in the UK suggested that the largest sports, in terms of participants, were walking and fishing. Although walking by not be classed as a sport by many, the inclusion of fishing on such a list may come as a surprise.
Though there is little agreement and such things are difficult to measure, it seems undeniable that football (soccer) remains the world's most popular sport.

Selecting a Sport Fishing Boat for Your Sport Fishing Competiton

Whether you’re a beginner or expert at sport fishing, making sure you have all the supplies and necessities for the expedition are vital for your long-term success. Finding a sport fishing boat that meets the standards of the competition, along with your preferences and tastes, can be a lengthy process. Sport fishing boats can be customized with a variety of features and amenities, or be very simple in construction and design.
Overview of the Sport Fishing Boat A sport fishing boat is designed to be very different in construction and strength than standard boats and cruise ships. Not only are these boats fuel efficient, but many are designed to be economical and durable instead of speedy. Sport fishing boats naturally travel at speeds of 25-30 mph, and burn low fuel rates overall. The key components of most sport fishing boats include:
• Hand-laid fiberglass construction• Glass-resin ratios• Stringer systems• Box fit assemblies• Amenities such as radios, CD extensions, and other electronic devices• Communication radios• Boat covers
Hand-laid fiberglass construction is a popular feature of many sport fishing boats, allowing the unit to be defect free with its thick laminate covering. A balanced glass-resin ration ensures that the laminate does not deteriorate over a period of time, as this can lead to severe structural damage in the long-term. Stringer systems can help bring together fiberglass and make the boat secure and sturdy. A box fit system is ideal for keeping balance between the hull and the deck Amenities can help create your unique experience on every excursion!
Sport Fishing Boat Models The most popular sport fishing boat models and manufacturers include:
• Pro-Line 23 Express• Century 2901• Pathfinder 2200 XL• Boston Whaler 200 Dauntless• Grady-White 275 Tournament• Triton 35 Express• Trophy 1901 Bay Skiff• Everglades 290 CC• Wellcraft 232 Coastal• Bluewater 23T
The Grady-White 275 Tournament sport fishing boat features a dual-console bow rider and complete fishing machine. It is a popular choice for the seasoned fishermen, and offers many luxuries and amenities with its versatile construction. Rugby; Not a Sport for the Weak!

Most people in the United States know very little about the great sport of Rugby and those who have watched probably do not really get it much. They simply do not understand what they are watching. It is not like football as the action is on-going and it is a rough sport, certainly not for the weak. Many believe this is why the French are not so good at it? Although let's not pick on the French, as the Americans do not play rugby either. Yet, it is sort of an American Type of sport in a way, as we like to play rough.
The truth is whether or not Americans understand the sport of rugby is rather irrelevant because Rugby is not played in America anyway. I believe Americans should play rugby, because unlike Football there are no time outs to catch your breath and believe me when I tell you that; Rugby is Not a Sport for the Weak!
In the United States our Professional Football Players dress up in lots of pads and get paid huge amounts of money plus lots of endorsements and they expend massive brawn for a few seconds and the play ends. Although people call them superior athletes few of them could run a marathon. Rugby players on the other hand are severely under padded and under paid by our standards and they are in top shapes as they truly are top athletes. Consider all this in 2006.

Some Helpful Exercise Tips To Help You Better Your Golf Game

If you are a person that does nothing all day and you start to play the game of golf you may need to start getting some other exercise besides the sport that you are trying to play. If you are already in shape then you shouldn't even be reading this. If you are not then you will need to get some exercise in and start losing some pounds so that you can play the sport good and with ease.
When you are trying to lose weight and tone up for playing the game of golf you are also going to want to get flexible as best as you can fast as well when you are trying to lose weight. The key to golf is smooth and flexible and when you are out of shape and not flexible you are not going to be able to play the sport very good at all. When you are already flexible and ready to play the sport you can start working on your swing and getting your style and swing down so that when it comes time for you to play you will already be good and be able to hit the ball onto the green.
People most of the time misunderstand when it means to get in shape. When we say get in shape we don't mean go lift a lot of weights and get jacked we mean get yourself in tone and good shape with your body so that you can play the sport well. You do not want to be a jacked and huge golf player because it's not the golfer body you do not want to be a body builder playing golf put it that way. You will want to be a slim fit person that can actually play the sport and be flexible when playing the sport. A big body builder will not be able to get the swing around good enough to play the sport.
Besides getting in shape and getting in tone with your body and having lean muscles you just need to work on your flexibility. If you are in sync with your body then you will do well when you are playing the sport but if you are not in sync and are not in good shape then you will find that golf is not the type of sport that you like. You might like football if you are a big person but golf will not be the sport for you if you are out of shape and are not flexible.
You will also want to stay hydrated while you are playing the sport so just be sure to remember to bring some sort of liquid with you when you are going to be playing the sport outside during the hot days. That is the last thing that you will want to happen be for you to have a heat stroke when you are trying to play a game of golf. Just be sure to remember to dress well and be in good shape when you are about to play also you should stretch before you play.

Finding New and Used Sports Equipment Online

Everyone has a sport. Some people are into team sports, others are into individual sports. Each sport has its own rules and regulations, and each sport requires its own set of equipment. Whether it is soccer, basketball, tennis, or golf, you'll be required to invest in equipment that is particular to the sport. This sports equipment might be balls, racquets, bats, clubs, or specific clothing, but also includes safety items and peripheral items, such as clothes and hats.
New or used sports equipment?
Before purchasing your sports equipment it is a good idea to consider a few questions.
1. How long have you been playing the sport? 2. How long do you plan on playing the sport?3. What level (amateur or professional) do you seek to achieve?
Answering these questions honesty, will help you make the right decision about purchasing sports equipment. If you are starting out in a sport and the equipment is expensive then it could be a good idea to consider purchasing used equipment: it is a cheaper investment. If you aren't sure whether the sport will suit you, then choose to purchase used equipment first. If you wish to stay at amateur level, playing the sport purely as a hobby, then you may never need to buy new equipment at all.
On the other hand if you've made a complete commitment to the sport of your choice, or if you are now getting more serious, shopping for new and state-of-the-art equipment can add a new dimension to your playing game.
Buying new and used sports equipment online

The Basics of Sport Fishing

Sport fishing is a popular American past time, and is often referred to simply as recreational fishing. The challenge of sport fishing is to find and catch the region’s most coveted type and species; the whole event may even include eating the catch of the day. Sport fishing methods vary by country and region, and the tournament and competition can depend on the specific species being targeted. From fly fishing to chasing down Marlin, there are many different skill levels and components involved with sport fishing tactics.
Types of Sport Fishing There are a few different types and forms of sport fishing: • Bass fishing• Big game fishing• Shore fishing• Ice fishing• Lure fishing• Fly fishing• Rock fishing
Each type of fish requires a different method for the appropriate catch; common species include tuna, walleye, northern pike, finger mark, trout, trevally, sailfish, and even shark.
Sport Fishing Equipment In order to compete in a tournament or competition, each angler will need the basic tools and supplies: • Reel• Rod• Tackle• Fishing nets• Fish finders• Fishing line
Sport fishing bait can be as simple as fishing lures and spinners, but may also include live fish species and other small animals. Common bait options include night crawlers, streamers, oysters, shrimp, and crustaceans. Frozen bait is another option; mackerel, sardines, herring, octopus, and squid are commonly used for many sport fishing competitions and events.
Sport Fishing Competitions Scores are given to the anglers at each sport fishing competition, and these global events can be considerably large and extensive in scope. Each score is assigned to individuals (commonly known as shore fishers), and teams (boat fishers). Fishing is timed, and a pound-test will determine what type of value the batch has. Anglers can receive a ‘flat score’ when they land, tag, and release a specific type of fish which is then divided by the line test.

Sport Pilot Training Certification

"Sport Pilot" used to mean any pilot who flew any type of aircraft for sport, with or without training or license. But the United States Federal Aviation Administration (or FAA) has recently redefined the term "sport pilot" to be applied to the new light sport aircraft airmen's certificate for which training and a certain amount of solo flying time are required.
Light sport aircrafts include parachutes for parasailing, hang gliders, and trikes -- in other words, aircraft that rely on their human sport pilot's physical power, athletic ability and expertise rather than a mechanical engine, which the aircraft may or may not have. They are also easy to transport by car or truck, and expensive hangars aren't necessary.
Those who wish to become sport pilots find that flying light sport aircraft are safe and affordable and that the necessary training is quick and easy. After learning the techniques and dynamics of being airborne from a qualified flight instruction school – such as takeoff, turning and landing – you can be flying solo and progress to longer and higher flights in just a few days. There are many sport pilot training or club organizations around the world to assist you and help you find friends to fly with.
Although there is relatively low risk involved with flying most light sport aircraft, safety is of the utmost importance to the sport pilot. A good training program will have instilled in a prospective sports pilot the habit of properly preparing and exercising good judgment, especially in terms of the weather conditions that he or she will be flying in. The most important decision you as a sport pilot will start with is what type of flying fits your lifestyle and what type of aircraft will do it for you. The next is finding a certified training program to meet your needs.

Do you Know the Origin of Basketball?

Do you know the origin of basketball?
The origins of the game of basketball can be traced back to a gentleman by the name of Dr. James Naismith. In 1861, Naismith was born in Almonte, Ontario, Canada. During his early school days, Naismith would play a game called duck on a rock whereby the child would endeavor to knock the duck off the top of the rock with a toss of another rock.
Later on, Naismith would go on to McGill University in Montreal and would later become McGill University's Athletic Director. He would subsequently move on to YMCA Training School in Springfield, Massachusetts and in 1891, the game of basketball began.
Given the cold Massachusetts winters, Naismith needed to find a recreational activity that could be played indoors and he preferred a sport that would develop skill and one that was not exclusively relying on strength. The first game was played with two peach baskets for goals and a soccer ball.
Further to his credit, Naismith became a medical doctor specializing in sports physiology and a Presbyterian minister. Naismith was able to see his beloved sport of basketball, gain acceptance in numerous countries through the YMCA since 1893. As well, the sport of basketball was brought forth at the Berlin Olympics in 1936. As we speak, the game of basketball has become a very popular professional sport.

Sky Diving

Imagine floating over the vast expanse of the earth, cherishing the natural treasures as well as feeling the calmness of the sky. Skydiving is about this. Encompassing thrills, adventure and unforgettable experiences, skydiving is a sport that involves the breaking a freefall through the use of a parachute.
Skydiving or parachuting was conventionally used to deploy military personnel in a specific area. However, this activity has transformed into an extremely popular and sought-after adventurous, recreational sport.
Jumping from an aircraft with a parachute attached to your back and free falling at unbelievable speeds to the expanse beneath is thrilling. Before the opening of the chute, one floats like a bird, soaking in the most enthralling visuals, an exalting experience indeed.
However, skydiving is not an impulse sport. Extensive training and guidance is a must to make your dive a satisfying and safe adventure ride. Apart from the parachute and parasailing expertise, the way one actually jumps is also crucial in this sport.
There are variegated techniques of skydiving, tandem and accelerated free fall being the most popular ones. The experts identify tandem skydiving as the most suitable method for novices. An instructor accompanies the diver through the entire skydiving experience. Accelerated free fall, on the other hand, allows the diver to experience a free fall for a stipulated time period, before the parachute opens. It is one of the most enthralling and fun-filled techniques of skydiving.
The sport has become immensely popular all over the globe, and apart from the regular training institutes, instructional classes for skydiving are available online as well. As the adventure-filled sport of skydiving beckons, get set to experience the ultimate.

Cliff Diving

Adding a new dimension to the sport of diving, cliff diving is defined as the acrobatic perfection of diving into water from a high cliff. Braving the rough rocks, divers take a plunge in the hard-hitting water beneath to experience a thrill to last for a lifetime
The sensational sport originated from the Hawaiian Island of Lana´i in 1770. Kahekili, the king, demanded that his men leap off high cliffs and enter the water feet first without a splash, to prove their courage and loyalty. Today, after centuries, the activity has expanded into a sport that is marked by immense courage, focus, thrill and risk.
This exciting sport requires a sound technical education and extensive training before one takes the first plunge. Apart from courage, self-confidence, extraordinary physical control and possessing the ability to make quick decisions is a must for this extreme sport. Unrelenting courage, uncompromising focus and the ability to make crucial decisions in a second are what make a successful cliff diver.
Cliff diving is one of the riskier kinds of diving; hence, extreme caution is a must. To the benefit of the divers, certain standards have been set to minimize the risk factor. Some of these include determining the height of the jump (23 – 28 meters for men, 18 – 23 meters for women), an ideal entering speed of 75 – 100 km/h, and a free fall time of 3 seconds.
Cliff diving is usually done in areas surrounded by calm waters. There are innumerable enticing natural sites all across the world that offers locations for this sport. Apart from a recreational activity, this extreme sport has also been taken up as a profession by brave hearts who continually conduct spine-chilling shows for the audience at various venues all over the globe.

Sport Fishing The Hawaiian way

I have grown up my entire life in Hawaii near the ocean and admit that I have never gone sport fishing. I am a self proclaimed veteran when it comes to scuba diving but when it comes to reeling in a fish as opposed to spearing one I haven't a clue.
It all started when my uncle from California came on a vacation trip to visit my family. He was bored one day and asked me what fun things there are to do here in Hawaii. I live on the North Shore and the activities are limitless but there is a catch, you need money to have fun.
I told my uncle about sport fishing and a charter that runs out of Haleiwa harbor. He got excited over the thought of being swallowed in 20 foot swells and having the salt water breeze splashing in his face.
We decided that we would book a charter the next day and it was with a company called Sport Fishing Hawaii. Upon arrival to the harbor we saw our ride out to see, it was the Karlyn vessel.
My uncle got everything he expected from the sport fishing adventure and then some, we caught 5 mahi mahi and a marlin. Captain Mark told us that we were lucky to get the marlin because not much fishing charters in Hawaii get to land a marlin. The marlin was about three hundred pounds and we cut it up and divided up among the captain and his crew. This is an experience that I will not forget, thanks to captain Mark and his Sport Fishing Hawaii charter.

Sport in Ireland

As beautiful as the scenery of Ireland is, as rich as her history and as breathtaking her ancient sites, monuments and homes all are, sometimes people don't go there for the scenery; sometimes they don't even go there for the whiskey! Sometimes people are really just desperate to see one of Ireland's sporting matches played on home ground, and travel there for that express purpose. You don't have to have gone to Ireland only to see the sport to enjoy it, though; even the casual tourist may find it enjoyable to take a day off from sightseeing to take in a match, and cheer for a team.
Possibly the best-known Irish sport is rugby. A fiercely competitive, full-contact sport, rugby really has to be seen to be appreciated. Rugby is also the sport that unites all of Ireland; North and South come together in this one thing, men from all over the island donning their country's colors to play as one Irish team. There is a fierce national pride inherent in the sport, and to take the chance to watch a match is to really get a glimpse of a truly Irish pastime.
If rugby's not your thing, however, there are still plenty of other sports to interest. You may be intrigued by the Irish sport of hurling, something that is very vaguely reminiscent of lacrosse in terms of the types of equipment used. Hurling, however, is a strictly Irish pastime, and can be traced back over 2000 years. If hurling does not interest, you may instead want the chance to take in some Gaelic football, which is often described as a fast sort of mix of rugby and soccer, or even camogie, a ladies' sport that is a slight variation on the aforementioned sport of hurling.
Whichever type of match you do decide to take in -you may even decide to try them all!- a day spent taking in the wonders and the glories of Ireland's sports and games is a day well spent.

Some Great Exercise Tips To Keep You In Shape For Tennis

As you can see and think tennis is a pretty good sport to do if you are in need of some exercise. It is not a sport that you can just do and then lay around. It is one of those types of sports where when you are playing it you are constantly running and trying to keep up with it. I have played tennis and I know what it takes to play the sport. You do not have to be in top shape to play the sport but if you are going to be actually playing the sport then you need to be able to run quick and get to the ball so you can hit it back. Tennis is a cardio sport and you need to be able to do that in order to play this sport.
If you have the energy to go running or jogging then you have the ability to play a good game of tennis. It is just one of those sports that you need to be able to run and keep up with yourself or your teammate that you are playing tennis with. Running is just part of the game and if you cannot run or jog for at least like 20 to 30 minutes then you are not going to be able to play the game of tennis because it will be too hard on you and you will more then likely get sick. So if you are out of shape then you need to run or jog so that you can get in shape to play the sport.
If you are looking for a nice good powerful swing then you need to work on your abs. you will want your abs to look good and be toned so that you can get a good strong swing. Without a good strong swing in tennis you will not be able to play the sport vigorously so you need to start getting your workout in so you will be able to keep up. If you cannot keep up then you will not be able to stay on the court and your teammate will probably find someone else to start playing with.
Your back muscles will need to be in good shape as well. You will need to basically tone out your whole body in order for yourself to play the sport with style and talent. You will be a whole different player in tennis after you have undergone your transformation. You will be able to play for longer and harder when you are in good shape.
You arms and your legs will be your two main places that you need to keep in shape and keep them doing something everyday. Without your arms and legs you are not a tennis player. After you have toned out everything then you can start to play the sport with fun because you will be able to wing that ball and be able to play the sport.

Enjoying Healthy Water Sports

If you enjoy fun in the sun and love to get wet in the process, then you might want to take up water sports. Whether you’re in the ocean, swimming pool, or lake, there’s a water sport for you! If a day on the lake excites you and you love the thrill of speed, try water skiing. Water skiing is a sport where you can start slow and just enjoy the wind blowing through your hair on a warm summer day or you can experience the rush of the hot sun and speed as you perform tricks on the lake. If you’re more of a swimming pool person and are looking for a water sport for you and the family there are many to choose from.
Swimming is, of course, often the first sport that comes to mind. It’s a sport that’s healthy for you and also can save your life, so it’s extremely important to learn. With the backstroke, butterfly stroke, and diving to name a few of the methods this sport has to offer, you can learn a lot and get into great shape with this sport as well. If you already enjoy swimming and just want to take the sport to another level, you might enjoy playing water volleyball. It’s a tremendous workout and offers those of you that have the itch for that competitive edge. Many places have water volleyball teams where you can compete in a league and the sport even goes as far as professional teams.
If water volleyball isn’t your thing, you might just enjoy a fun game of tag or Marco Polo in the pool. Whatever pool sport you choose, it’s sure to bring a fun time for you and your family. If you enjoy the smell of the salt water and the squish of sand between your toes, then a water sport in the ocean is for you. Try underwater diving. Underwater diving offers exercise for your health, however, it also provides you with great scenery. Where else can you exercise while watching multi-colored tropical fish swimming by the coral? Whatever water sport you decide to try, be sure an adhere to safety rules and have fun!

Boxing is Bad in Australia

Australian sport fans pride themselves on being big sport fans, which they are, I am actually one of them. We also love our sport to be played hard and fair. But when it comes to boxing, Australian sport fans try to be supportive of the sport, not knowing its actually further damaging it.
Most Australian fans buy the top aussie fighters pay per views in Anthony Mundine, Danny Green and Paul Briggs. In most cases this is good and healthy for the sport of boxing. But recently Australian fighters have been fighting opponents well below there own fighting standards. With opponents such as Nievas and Clavero and other Phillipino fighters who come to Australia for as little as $300 to fight. These fights are bad match ups and mostly the boxers are just trying to make as much money as they can without fighting credible opponents. Most fighters around the world do it, except it seems to be happening a lot in Australia recently.
So by trying to support boxing and by buying these pay per views, there are actual mismatches going on inside the ring. And it is sending a message unintentionally to the top level fighters that it is okay to fight lesser opponents just to make some safe money, minimizing the chance of a shock loss. However this is not what the sport is all about. And boxing organisations need to stop sanctioning such fights, before a lesser opponent is seriously hurt. I just hope we do not have to wait for that opponent to be hurt and we can do it before it gets to that stage. Stopping Australian mismatches is a must in the sport of boxing, for the sport to prosper in this country.
